It really comes down to your riding style! Leather is the gold standard for pure abrasion resistance and that timeless biker aesthetic. On the other hand, textile jackets are the 'Swiss Army knives' of gear—they're lightweight, often packed with extra pockets, and usually more adaptable to changing weather thanks to advanced venting systems.

Safety first! Most quality jackets come equipped with CE-rated armor at the shoulders and elbows. While many also feature a pocket for a back protector, they don't always include the insert itself. We always recommend double-checking the specs so you can add that extra layer of spine protection if it’s not already there.

Not all jackets handle rain the same way. You’ll find everything from fully waterproof shells with integrated membranes to water-resistant options that handle a light drizzle. If you’re a year-round rider, look for gear with removable waterproof liners or dedicated storm flaps over the zippers to ensure you stay dry when the skies open up.
